Gadgets

A Gadget is the control that allows you to interact with a connected door managed by an Akiles device. It is the element that appears in the application and that the user uses to perform an action, such as opening a door or activating access. A single Akiles device can have one or several Gadgets, depending on what it controls.

Imagine an Akiles device installed at the entrance of a building. That device could have several Gadgets, for example:

Each of these Gadgets appears as an independent control in the application.

Gadget actions

A Gadget can have one or several actions configured. For example, a Gadget called “Main door” could allow: opening the door for a limited number of seconds, keeping it unlocked permanently, or locking it again. The available actions depend on the type of device installed.

Simple Example: Some facilities have two motorized doors to enter the parking lot. First a motorized sliding door and, subsequently, a motorized overhead door. In this case we could have a Gadget in the App where, once activated, first the first door would open and, after 15 seconds, automatically, the second door would open.

How are Gadgets managed?

Gadgets are used to define what access a member linked to a group has. In groups you select the Gadgets that members can use and configure the conditions of use such as:

When a member belongs to a group, they automatically can use all the Gadgets configured in that group with their associated restrictions.
