Cards
The cards section allows you to manage all physical access cards used in your Akiles system. From here you can check which cards exist in your organization, what type of cards they are, and which members they are assigned to. Cards allow you to activate gadgets through NFC technology without needing to use a mobile phone.
Important: Card assignment to members can be done remotely without needing to pass the card through a card reader/writer. This is because in the Akiles system, cards act as mere identifiers and the access permission is stored in our devices.
Which cards are compatible with our system
Our system allows the use of the following types of cards:
- Mifare Desfire EV2 or EV3: These cards have high security and can be used in more than one Akiles organization
- Mifare Light: These cards have high security but can only be used in one Akiles organization
- ISO14443 type A cards such as: Mifare Classic, some credit cards, etc.
How to add cards to the system
Cards can be added to the system in two ways:
-
Bulk import: Allows you to register multiple cards at once through a mass import. This is useful when managing large quantities of cards.
-
Manual activation: It is also possible to register cards manually and activate them one by one within the system.
Information available for each card
In the card list you can view the following information:
- Name: Name assigned to the card to facilitate its identification within the system.
- Printed Code: Code printed on official Akiles cards that allows easy identification.
- Card UID: Unique identifier of the card.
- Card type: Indicates the type of card registered in the system, for example:
- Assigned member: Shows the member to which the card is linked, if assigned.
** Akiles also allows the use of third-party cards, although their use may involve certain risks that must be previously accepted by the customer.
Card assignment to members
A card can be assigned to a member so that person can use it as an opening method. Once assigned, the member will be able to use the card to open the gadgets they have access to according to their group configuration.
